Rosebank Care Home Are Keeping The Elderly Connected

We have restricted visits to the home, but are turning to technology to help avoid social isolation for our vulnerable residents in response to government guidelines, amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Staff are keeping spirits high by bringing the outside world in to the home by continuing our weekly keep fit sessions through FaceTime and supporting relatives and residents to use Skype calls.
With the over-70s considered one of the groups which are vulnerable to the virus, relatives and friends are having to think carefully about unnecessary physical contact and social interaction.
In order to combat social isolation we have increased our activity schedules and residents have been enjoying creating memory books, participating in sunflower competitions, celebrating St Patrick’s Day and even raising fluffy yellow ducklings.

Rosebank Care Home has enhanced its activity programme after temporarily limiting visits to essential only, prioritising the safety and well-being of residents and staff. The team wants to reassure families that residents remain in good spirits and are enjoying creative and engaging ways to stay active.
In addition, Rosebank Care Home recently celebrated its ‘Outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission with a joyful tea party, bringing residents and staff together to mark this remarkable achievement.
