Raising the bar to provide best activities for residents

At Rosebank we hosted a Caribbean-themed summer fete, bringing together the community and marking the start of the summer holidays.

Residents, staff and friends and family of Rosebank were treated to a day of Caribbean-themed fun, with mocktails, a pineapple tin can alley, beach-styled sandpit, and even a limbo bar.

Guests were invited to buy tickets for a raffle and played classic games and competitions such as ring toss and guess the weight of the cake. The event raised £324 which will be split evenly between a fund for our residents and Dementia UK.

Also in attendance was the Calibre Allstars Steelband who played the steelpans for guests, as they enjoyed food barbecued on-site.

Vanessa Lavender, home manager at Rosebank Care Home said: “Thank you to everyone that attended, had fun and dug deep to help not only our residents but also Dementia UK.

“And aren’t we lucky that the weather held up? You’d be forgiven for thinking you were somewhere more exotic! We’re incredibly pleased with the amount of money that we raised, and extend a huge thank you to all of the local businesses that donated prizes for the raffle.”

Rosebank provides a varied daily activities programme to enrich the lives of their residents.
